Wales U19 forward joins The Robinesses ahead of 2023/24.
Billingham follows in the footsteps of fellow Wales youth international and former Cardiff City teammate, Phoebie Poole, by becoming the Club’s second signing of the summer ahead of the second campaign in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier.
Talking to Gloucestershire Live, Billingham admitted that knowing Poole helped her in her decision.
“It’s been much easier; I enjoy playing with Phoebie on and off the pitch. The girls have been really welcoming, so it’s been easy to settle in.
“I heard about Cheltenham, and it was an interesting one due to it being a bigger challenge, so I am excited!”
Cheltenham’s new signing has represented Wales at U17 and U19 level a combined eight times, a proud achievement for her.
“Playing for the Under-19s has been massive for my development, playing with players and managers at higher standards, and against teams at high standards. It’s been some great experiences to get to where I am now,” Billingham said.
When asked about any potential goals and targets ahead of the campaign, she said: “I’d like to continue how I played last season and bring my ability to the team to try and help us win.”
Cheltenham manager Davies was happy to get another signing over the line for the new campaign, as he stated: “Lily’s a massive talent and someone who can create something from nothing.
“She’s exciting to watch and brings creativity, drives with the ball and combines well with players around her.
“Another great coup for this side and someone who fits the style and culture we’re bringing to the club.”
Cheltenham Town Ladies’ FA WNL Premier South campaign kicks off on Sunday August 20 where they will make the trip to Portsmouth Women.
