Cheltenham Town Women will be looking to build on their impressive Women’s National League Plate triumph as they return to league action on Sunday when they travel to Oxford United (2pm kickoff).
The Robinesses were 4-1 winners over Boldmere St Michael’s last Sunday, with Libby Bell, Emily Owen, Connie Pengelly and Doris Greenwood getting on the scoresheet. The win sets up a second-round clash at Kayte Lane with Wolves, on Sunday October 20.
Sam Rose’s side were also in cup action last weekend, losing on penalties to Billericay Town in a thriller at the New Lodge.
They return to FA WNL Southern Premier Division matters this weekend though, as they travel to Court Place Farm to play Oxford United. They currently sit third in the division, three points off league leaders Hashtag United.
The games with Oxford last season were close for the Robinesses, with the Yellows coming out on top in both. They narrowly won 1-0 in October 2023 at Kayte Lane, with Leah Burridge netting the solitary goal.
In the reverse fixture last March, Phoebie Poole, who now plays for the U’s, opened the scoring for Cheltenham, however within a quickfire few minutes, Zoe Barratt gave the hosts all three points.
Tom Davies’ side will be looking for their first league win since the 5-0 win over MK Dons in late August. They have a packed October schedule as after their visit to Court Place Farm on Sunday, they welcome Exeter City to Kayte Lane on October 13, the WNL Plate match against Wolves a week later, and a trip to Lewes on Sunday October 27.
The game is being played at Court Place Farm, postcode OX3 0NQ. Tickets can be bought in advance by clicking HERE.
Tickets can also be purchased on the gate. Prices are £7 for adults, £3.50 for Over 60s, £1 for U16s, and Under 5s get in free.
For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter) as well as on Instagram.
