Cheltenham Town Women will look to reach the Quarter Finals of the Women’s National League Plate when they take on Women’s National League Northern Premier Division Side Wolves at Kayte Lane on Sunday (2pm kickoff).
Tom Davies’ side come into this Second Round Plate encounter after a 3-0 defeat to in-form Exeter City last weekend. After an even first half, Sarah Stacey poked the visitors ahead just like she did in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash 11 months ago. Second half goals from Sophie Gillies and Zoe Watkins secured three points for Abbie Britton’s side.
A 4-1 win at Boldmere St Michaels gave the Robinesses their Second-Round spot, whilst Wolves beat AFC Fylde, 3-0. Dan McNamara’s side come into this weekend’s clash after an 8-0 thrashing of Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion.
Goals from Jade Cross, Beth Merrick, a brace from Tammi George and four goals from Charlotte Greengrass secured a famous win at the Hawthorns. Wolves currently sit in 2nd in the Northern Premier, a point off unbeaten league leaders Nottingham Forest.
The Robinesses round off the month with a trip to Lewes on Sunday October 27, and start their Adobe Women’s FA Cup journey a week later, when they play Regen Arable South West Regional Women’s Football League Division One South side Yeovil Town on Sunday November 3.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s, and can be purchased here or on the gate.
