It is always a privilege for Cheltenham Town Ladies FC to be represented at the FA Women’s Premier League AGM at St George’s Park. This year club secretary and manager Graham Fletcher once again flew the flag for The Robins.
It may only be mid-June but the AGM marks the official close to one season and the beginning of the new season ahead. And it certainly promises to be another exciting season for our club with the prospect of two home games at Whaddon Road.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Southampton Women’s FC and Poole Town Ladies FC to our division and wish Chichester City FC every success after gaining promotion to the Southern Division.
At the same time we offer our best wishes to Exeter City and Shanklin and hope they can come back soon.
The draw for the FA WPL Cup took place at the AGM and we will play West London-based Actonians Ladies from the South Eastern Division at Petersfield Park on 3 September.
The season itself starts on Sunday 20 August and our pre-season training gets under way on Tuesday 4 July at The Folly on Swindon Road, Cheltenham.
A personal highlight for Graham Fletcher attending the AGM was that he was invited to draw one of the WPL League Cup draw balls from the famous FA Cup velvet bag.
