Cheltenham Town Ladies FC have captured former Bristol City Women’s goalkeeper, Aimee Watson ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
The former Wales youth international was delighted to join the Robins Ladies after a season each with Oxford United Women and Swindon Town Women respectively. She believes the club’s focus on hard working football is a perfect match for what she brings.
“After chatting with Tom, I liked his passion and desire,” She said, speaking to Gloucestershire Live’s Jon Palmer.
“He is a massive believer in work rate and for me as a player that’s something I pride myself on, always giving 100 per cent. I would say shot-stopping and bravery with one-on-ones are two of my strengths and I am vocal on the pitch, always trying to help my team mates out.”
Watson has set herself a new goal for the upcoming campaign: help Cheltenham win promotion.
“I believe we have the right group to do it and that is 100 per cent the aim,” she said.
“With Tom and the support staff, who believe in us, the players are ambitious and we want to take the club as far as we can.”
